Im in for the Money!! Honey...

Among my group of friends, there is this pet discussion that inevitably crops up every time we start discussing relationships… Is a marriage just a legal formality for two people to live in together, and more literally (and to the point) – does a marriage give you a free hand at having sex with another person? No questions asked.. no eyebrows raised and more importantly - no judgments made!!! (and my friend says – “Sounds a lot like legalized prostitution… doesn’t it?”)

Now don’t judge ME.. im not taking any sides here. I support marriages and relationships as much as a chicken supports vegetarianism. Im just tryng to give u a point of view.

What sparked the idea was when I recently read this article (delhi times – very reliable source J ) about the concept of contract marriages becoming the rage in Hollywood. Supposedly, a certain couple are going in for a renewal of their marriage contract, which was 3 years long as of last reported. As part of the contract, there were incentives for having babies, monthly spending money, something about adopting some religion and other such jack s**t. (and this is not a stand alone case. It’s really catching on)

In a nutshell – on one hand: 2 ppl MARRY, but one pays the other for their (Ahem…) services…keep him happy and extend his family name – and a little bonus awaits you .. And on another: u have a person who asks for money in exchange of his/ her services…do a good job, bend over backwards to please them and you find your partner digging deeper into their pockets… Everyone is having fun and someone is singing their way to the bank. Sound odd to u? something pops into your mind here? (minus some differences in paperwork)

Now don’t tell me you're saying - But Thats “Hollywood”!! They are different, and it’s not our culture… Wake up…. Human beings descend from Apes. What we do best is APE!!! How long before this become a fad????

Could someone repeat the Wedding Vows again???? Im confused here.......

    U know, I still dont get why pay to get married and do all these things..
    i mean, payment for sex, to have babies etc makes sense.. but WHY add in the complications of marriage etc..

    or is it just the really famous who need the complexities?

    u are talking abt Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, in order to have a second child, she has told her father to look over the "new contract".. (i know hollywood...;))

    but at some level i think, this happens alot in hollywood, and to some extent where people have already been in a failed relationship, wherein which the end result was a breakdown - emotionally, financially, and in their case reputation wise as well... so for them, a "new course of life" demands stricter and more stringent measures such that they maintain all that they may lose, if they are to fall in the same trap again..

    so i guess, everyone one has their warped reasons...
